Carman Ranch Provisions is a beef company rooted in over a century of ranching in Northeast Oregon. We raise and grass-finish our cattle with a long-term commitment to soil health, animal welfare, our customers, and the rural communities where we live and work.

Our regenerative practices are built on decades of experience and practical knowledge. That depth shows up in the quality of our beef and in the trust we’ve earned with chefs, retailers, and families across the Pacific Northwest.

For more than two decades, we’ve sold authentic, high-quality grassfed beef to restaurants, institutions, and retailers in the Pacific Northwest. We are now growing our direct relationships with customers who want food they can believe in — food that supports their health, their values, and their local economy.

We are taking a dual approach to growth: building relationships in person through events, tastings, and community partnerships, and building trust online through consistent, grounded storytelling. This role leads the digital side of that strategy.


The Role

You will own Carman Ranch Provisions’ digital storytelling and social media presence. Your job is to help people understand who we are, why our beef is different, how to buy from us, and why buying directly from a regional ranch matters.

This is not a “posting” job. It is a customer relationship and storytelling role that supports direct-to-consumer growth. You will turn ranch life, customer questions, events, seasonal offerings, product education, and the larger food-system conversation into content that builds trust and moves people toward  purchase. You will work closely with the Sales and Relationship Manager so our in-person and digital strategies reinforce each other.


Core Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Own CRP’s social media presence — primarily Instagram — with potential to grow on TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Manage, and eventually build, a monthly content calendar aligned with DTC goals
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence
  • Write grounded, clear, human captions
  • Translate ranch, product, and customer stories into engaging content


2. Storytelling & Customer Education

  • Learn and protect the Carman Ranch voice
  • Develop recurring storytelling themes
  • Turn customer questions into content
  • Create posts that help customers understand how to buy and use our product
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of  iPhone video and photography, editing, reel creation, and visual design


3. Event & Sales Support

  • Support events with pre- and post-event content
  • Capture or coordinate event content
  • Create content that drives attendance and follow-up


4. Community Management

  • Respond to comments and DMs promptly
  • Guide customers toward purchasing and engagement
  • Surface insights to the team


5. Email & Long-Form Content

  • Support customer emails and seasonal campaigns
  • Draft blog or longer-form content as needed


6. Analytics & Improvement

  • Track performance and engagement
  • Provide monthly summaries and recommendations

Digital Marketing Growth Over Time

  • Help build the foundation for CRP’s broader digital marketing efforts as the DTC business grows
  • Support email marketing, customer segmentation, and basic  CRM communication over time
  • Work with the team to connect social media, email, website content, events, and product launches into one clear customer journey and brand platform
  • Help identify the instances and places where digital tools can better support customer education, repeat purchasing, subscriptions, and event attendance
  • (Eventually) lead paid social campaigns and coordinateSEO, website updates, and other growth initiatives as needed
  • Bring a practical, test-and-learn mindset to digital marketing, with a focus on trust, retention, and profitable growth

You are not expected to be a full digital marketing expert on day one, but you should be curious, capable, and willing to grow into a larger digital strategy role as the business expands. We expect that you are versed and always iterating with LLMs as a collaborator on content creation. You are well-informed and heavily focused on where the social media and AI landscape are headed and know how to balance these new tools with taste and good brand judgment.


Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong writer with clear voice
  • Using visual imagery and video to storytell are in your DNA
  • Organized and consistent
  • Interested in food, land, and regenerative agriculture
  • Comfortable with social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube and ways to use analytics to improve and grow engagement and followership over time
  • Warm and professional communicator


Compensation

  • Salary: $80,000
